Backing on to Belfast’s Botanic Gardens, the refurbishment and extension to the Queens University Physics Centre successfully integrates ‘Old’ and ‘New’.
The glazed Atrium which is a communal gathering area, is a bright, airy, relaxing place where students and staff meet and mingle at various stages of the day. The Schuco FW50+ Curtain Walling system was used to build the Atrium. The mullion/transom matrix is fixed to the Primary Structure using stainless steel clevis pins through laser cut polyster powder coated steel brackets. Pilkington Suncool high performance 63/45 double glazed units where used to provide Solar Control.
